Jake Neuman is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter known for his emotive vocals and powerful storytelling. Neuman is a fighter, battling a rare medical condition and his family’s conflicting visions for his future all before making a move from his home in Bakersfield to Nashville TN.
Neuman’s music is characterized by his raw and honest songwriting, which he delivers with an authenticity that has resonated with fans. Through social media and live performances, he has built a loyal following, catching the attention of New York City-based artist and producer Gregory Dwane Griffith. The two met at Americana Fest 2022 and hit it off, leading to the production of Neuman’s debut EP at Griffith’s Peacedale Records.
For the recording, Griffith brought in a talented group of local musicians, including Jeff Hill (Steve Earl, Shooter Jennings, and Rufus Wainwright), Tony Leone ( Little Feat and the Chris Robinson Brotherhood), and Jimmy Wallace (Jack Ingram, Dierks Bentley, and Parker McCollum). The resulting sound is a unique blend of raw, modern, rootsy, and gothic, drawing comparisons to artists like Zack Bryan, Arlo McKinley, and Lucero.
The songs on the album are a reflection of Neuman’s own experiences, telling the story of a young man caught between different worlds and ideologies, searching for his place in the present while grappling with the past and the uncertain future. Neuman’s music is a testament to the transformative power of art and the resilience of the human spirit, and his debut album promises to be a powerful and emotional journey for listeners.
