North Carolina-grown and Nashville-based, Trey Calloway grew up singing in church and was a seasoned performer by the age of 10. Although southern and contemporary gospel were his first musical loves, Trey was instantly mesmerized by the sounds of country music after hearing a Garth Brooks Greatest Hits album and quickly developed a deep understanding and passion for the rocking, boot stomping music of Garth, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt.
Trey has opened shows for Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, Pat Green, Edwin McCain, Craig Campbell, and Trent Tomlinson and has played for audiences at the Charlotte Speed Street NASCAR Festival, the House of Blues and The Tennessee State Fair Opry Stage. With a feature on CMT and a full-length LP on the way in the fall, Calloway proves an excellent forerunner of the ‘90s country revival, offering a timeless take on the genre and a sense of nostalgia and authenticity that brings today’s listeners back to the roots of 3 chords and the truth.
